		<description>We have now confirmed that we can distinquish P.knowlesi from the other 4 human malarias with a rapid malaria test (rmt) containing  four of our  monoclonal antibodies (mabs) to Plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase ( see chart) 9c1,10d, 11d/13h and 17e4. This differentiation clearly demonstrates that P.knowlesi reacts with  both  the P.vivax specific mab and the P.falciparum specific mab and it does not react with mabs that react with P. malariae or P.ovale. Nicolas White has recently commented that  P.knowlesi may be the FIFTH human malaria.Clin Infect Dis. 2008 Jan 15;46(2).
